Wildcoast is a 120 acre farm on the west side of Mount Karioi, 15km from Raglan’s famous surf breaks. We are a family run farm that has been in operation for 24 years. Our eco cabins and horse treks have been running for the past 20 years and we love sharing our little bit of heaven with you.
Both cabins are perched on the edge of a valley covered by native bush that we have spent the last 20 years regenerating and have views of both the Tasman sea and Mount Karioi. The studio style cabins are off the grid – but with all the essential amenities to make your stay comfortable. There are no power outlets or wifi or even cell phone reception so you can completely switch off from your busy life for the duration of your stay. Both cabins are equipped with kitchens with gas cooking and a fridge and all the utensils you may need. Linen and towels are provided.
WIndyflax can sleep up to 3 people and Watersong can sleep up to 4 people. Water for the cabins is from a nearby spring from under the mountain, beautiful to drink and soak in. The valley the cabins overlook is alive with bird song and you can hear the rocky bottom stream that flows through the middle of it. Watch the sun set and see the milky way without any light pollution.
We are very conscious about our environmental footprint and we try to recycle as much as possible and cut down on waste.
We offer 2 or 3 hour horse treks that explore the surrounding native bush and go along Ruapuke Beach. Our treks are world renowned for the beauty that surrounds us and for the beautiful horses we have. We ride twice daily and cater for all riding abilities from complete novice to experienced rider.
Have complete seclusion from the outside world. A space to unwind and recharge. A horse lovers dream.
Prices:
3hr: $200 per adult $170 per child (12yrs minimum)
2hr: $160 per adult $140 per child
Treks go out at 10am and 3pm daily however it is first in first served for which trek is going out (3 hr or 2 hr). So the more notice we get the more likely there will be spaces available for them. We have a 100kg weight limit. We do not provide transport.
